DreamScene for Vista - Tropical Ocean Waves (HD 1080p)
DreamScenes are video wallpaper for Windows Vista. Most sites offering DreamScenes either want you to register, charge money, kill you with popups, or some other nonsense.
So I thought it would be good to provide one you can just download and use with no beat down. The only requirement is if you post it on your own site you have to provide a link back (see included readme).
The Tropical Ocean Waves DreamScene is one I created using a highend 3d package called Maya 2008 Unlimited. It took about 30 hours to render on a Intel Quad Core 3.2Ghz system.
Here's a screen shot, but it looks much better in full motion at 1080p resolution! I'm already providing a lower resolution for those who don't have have 1920x1080 monitors.
Please let me know what you think. If I get requests I may do some more special effects related DreamScenes.
1920x1080 Resolution (1080p HD, 28MB) - NOT FOR a slow computer, max quality
Download Vista_DreamScene_Ocean_1080p.zip
1280x720 Resolution (720p HD, 22MB) - LOWER CPU Load, still looks good
Download Vista_DreamScene_Ocean_720p.zip
NON-WIDESCREEN monitors, 1200x800 and up (22MB)
Download Vista_DreamScene_Ocean_NOT_WIDESCREEN.zip
Nice Background But Even With A Duel Core 6000+ Processor 4 gig memory 800 DDR2 Maxes Both Cores... Not Good If You Want To Do Anything Else But Watch The Dream... Looks Nice Though Just Need To Find A Way To Make It So The Cpu Usuage Is Below 20% Not 100%

Hi, thanks for your comments.
One thing to try is the 720p version, which is much less resource intensive than the 1080p version and looks nearly as good.
Also Video cards released in 2007 or later have hardware acceleration than greatly reduces the CPU usage. For example I have a cheap NVidia 8600 card and my CPU utilization is about 9%.
However I will play with the encoding settings and see if I can make the load as light as possible.
Regards,
Lee

Pretty nice, but I think you could've zoomed in a bit more and smoothed/varied the movement just a little to make it look more "natural". Right now it looks a bit odd at some places. (this may be due to the loopable nature of the clip)
But thanks for sharing this anyway, it's a pretty nice clip as far as publicly available dreamscene clips go.

This one is nothing for Quad Cores
You Gotta Make Dreamscene Longer and Some Much More Resource Intensive of 1080p
Thanks...
